OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The municipality aimed to re-open all the swimming pools by 18 November 2022 during the swimming season.
However due to repairs and maintenance works still underway at three of the eight municipal swimming pools, the re-opening of the swimming pools is postponed to Friday, 2 December 2022.
The internal municipal project team assigned to assist with the effective implementation of the swimming pool maintenance plan have been working very hard for the past month to date to ensure thorough work is done through proper repairs and maintenance of the pool pumps, filters, swimming pool leaks, plumbing problems as well as the maintenance of the chlorinator and lighting systems as well structural damages at all municipal swimming pools.
Thereafter, the swimming pools will be filled with the appropriate water levels while the appointed caretakers will regularly check whether the water systems and unused equipment are still functional for public use and gala events at the municipal swimming pools.
We have strengthened our swimming pool business operational processes and systems to ensure that the municipality keeping the municipal swimming pools well maintained with proper pool cleaning, could prolong its life, prevent bacteria growth and hold off needed repairs; because it is indeed important to clean and brush the pools on a regular basis to upkeep the municipal pools looking great and relaxing.
