NATIONAL NEWS - The son of a Laudium businessman and community newspaper owner was shot and wounded on Wednesday evening.
Shaheer Noormohamed, was shot outside Kismet Supermarket around 18:30 after a car was smashed and damaged. Shaheer is the son of Laudium Sun Newspaper owner, Nazeer Noormohamed.
Provincial police spokesperson Lieutenant Kay Makhubela said a 46-year-old man was inside the supermarket when he saw men outside smashing his white BMW X3.
“The car owner went outside and shot two of the men. He then ran into another shop and hid until police came,” Makhubela said.
Both men had been wounded and were taken to hospital.
An anonymous source told Rekord that Shaheer Noormohamed and two other people were shot. The source said Shaheer was shot in the leg while another was hit in the shoulder and the other in the leg.
