OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Animal Care Team SA, in conjunction with the State Veterinary Office, are organising our Annual Animal Rabies Welfare Day.
It will be held on 18 September from 09:00 to 15:00 at the state veterinary offices in Van der Riet Street.
They invite every dog owner in the Greater Oudtshoorn to bring their dog for a free rabies vaccination.
According to Vanessa Engelbrecht, chair of ACTSA, rabies infections are deadly to both pets and people.
"This is our third year running and we rely on our Oudtshoorn Businesses to please support this initiative. Funds raised allow our Community Welfare Clinic to assist in helping hundreds of households to sterilise their pets. We also provide basic healthcare where possible."
There will be stalls with cupcakes and sausage rolls and so much more. There will also be a magic show for the children at 10:00 and lots of toys and treats for pets.
Pet owners can also dip their dogs and clip their nails for R5.
If anyone wants to donate anything for this day or need more information contact Vanessa Engelbrecht at 044 279 2322 or Dr Cathy Fox at 044 203 9443.
