ELECTION NEWS AND VIDEO - As election day 2019 has drawn to a close with voting stations closing at 21:00, there has been a marked increase in political party representatives at the IEC Western Cape Results Centre in Cape Town.
A number of voting stations where voters were still in the queues will remain open until the last voter has voted.
Political party representatives are now eagerly awaiting the first results to be announced.
Many representatives have reported that they were happy with voter turnout despite the inclement weather in the Mother City.
On average, parties have reported a number of concerns, such as voting stations had run out of ballot papers.
However, most of the party representatives said they were happy with the numbers of supporters who braved the weather and long queues to make their mark.
