GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - With the Keurbooms River flowing strongly, approximately 70 people have become stranded in the area.
These are the current conditions at De Vlugt in the George municipal area.
The group has indicated that they do not wish to evacuate at this stage, but have requested food supplies through the Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) Multi-Agency Command Centre (MACC).
According to GRDM Fire Chief Deon Stoffels, the Western Cape Provincial Government will assist by providing a helicopter to transport the food supplies to the affected residents.
