Ramaphosa visits Oudtshoorn
President Cyril Ramaphosa led South Africa’s 2026 National Heritage Day celebrations at a packed Bongolethu Sport Stadium in Oudtshoorn on 24 September.The event, held under the theme “Celebrating Our Living Heritage: Strengthening the Ties That Bind Us”, brought together thousands of spectators, government ministers, dignitaries and community members to celebrate South Africa’s diverse cultures, traditions, histories and living heritage.Before the official programme, Ramaphosa planted two wild olive trees at the stadium. “It is an honour to celebrate National Heritage Day in a place that bears witness to the lives of our earliest forebears,” Ramaphosa said.
