Poolse monument onthul by CP Nel-museum
‘n Monument ter herdenking aan die 500 Poolse kinders en hul versorgers wat in 1942 Oudtshoorn hul tuiste gemaak het is op Woensdag 24 September, Erfenisdag, amptelik onthul. Die monument is langs die CP Nel-museum opgerig en bevat selfs 'n QR-kode wat skandeer kan word om die merkwaardige geskiedenis van die kinders te lees. Ter aansluiting hierby is daar ook nou ‘n Poolse-uitstalling binne die museum.Tydens die geleentheid is spesiale erkenning gegee aan vier van die nou bejaarde kinders wat nog lewe: Felix (Kawa) Vaskys, Stanislaw Niekrasz, Robert Magda en Wanda Okreglicki. Die vier het ook die lint amptelik geknip met die opening waarna kranse by die monument neergelê is.
