Graad 1's begin hulle eerste dag
Graadeens het vandag, met skooltassies, bokstertjies en groot glimlagte, by laerskole in Oudtshoorn opgedaag. Nie een traantjie nie, net glimlagte en baie selfvertroue. "Hierdie millennium kindertjies is anders, hulle huil nie," het 'n juffrou gesê. In 'n mediaverklaring vanaf die Wes-Kaapse departement van onderwys noem hulle dat 1,2 miljoen leerders vandag skool toe gaan, insluitend bykans 92 000 graadeens wat op pad is na die 'grootskool', en meer as 96 000 gr. 8's wat hoërskool toe gaan.
