WATER SPORT - Reddam House surfers dominated the results at the 2017 Sea Harvest Western Cape Interschools Surfing Championships which took place in perfect weather and 2-3 foot surf at the Pipe in Stand on Sunday.
The Senior Schools title was won by the team from Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard which was made up of Sam and Kyra Bennie, Sam Button, Ryan Moreira and Charlotte Brown.
Reddam Hose posted a score of 84 points and Fish Hoek High School came second with 74, 8 points, just, 8 points more than Cedar House, who were third.
Local school, Strand High, posted 67, 2 points and placed fourth.
Camps Bay High and Constantia Waldorf were joint fifth and Melkbosstrand High and Paul Roos were joint seventh.
In the Junior Final, Brad Scott led his Reddam House Constantia team that included Christian and Joshua Myburgh, Tanner Adshade and Jono Taylor, to victory over Kommetjie Primary and Imhoff Waldorf.
The Team Spirit Trophy was a hotly contested affair between Ocean View High and Pelican Park High. In the end, honours went the way of Pelican Park High School.
Eighteen teams from fifteen Western Cape Schools entered the 2017 Sea Harvest Western Cape Interschool’s Surfing Championships. They came from the Southern Suburbs, the Southern Peninsula, from the West Coast, the Cape Winelands and the Overberg and all eighteen teams entered into the spirit of the event.
