The 20th anniversary celebrations of the Springboks’ 1995 Rugby World Cup victory were held at Ellis Park on Wednesday and it certainly proved an emotional day for the victorious squad, most of whom watched a replay of the final against New Zealand for the first time.
There was media interest to satisfy, a Let’s Play coaching clinic, and then a lunch. Only then could they really all sit and banter like the tightly-knit team they were 20 years ago, before the moment came and SuperSport showed the final in its entirety from 3pm, the same time the match kicked off on June 24, 1995.
