CYCLING NEWS - The annual Oubos MTB challenge was once again a great hit among mountain bikers - especially those who decided to give the Absa Cape Epic a break this year.
Participants could choose between a 50km, 25km and 10km distance.
Divan Terblanche took the win in the mens 50km race, Willem Botha came in second and in third place was Neil Zietsman. Shauna Esmeyer won the ladies 50km with Elke Koch and Zoe Neville in second and third place respectively.
The 25km race was won by Matthew Brink, with Juan Basson in second place and Eduan Hamilton in third. In the ladies race Michelle Malan took the laurels, with Malaika and Zilla North in second and third spots.

A total of about 160 riders took part in this year's event.
While the mountain bikers were doing their thing, their families, supporters and friends were waiting for them in at Blanco Primary School where a festive atmosphere was created by some food stalls, a jumping castle and the school's potjiekos competition.
The 50km men's race was won by Divan Terblanche. Willem Botha came in second and in third place was Neil Zietsman.
The 25km ladies' race was won by Michelle Malan. Malaika and Zilla North came in second and third respectively.
