SWIMMING NEWS - Avid little swimmers of Fish Eagles Aquatics soared sky-high with the most points at the Eden Aquatics Junior Championship Gala held at Holy Cross Primary School last Saturday morning, 11 March.
Royal Swimming Academy (RSA) was the runner-up and Knysna Aquatics received an overall third placement.
Holy Cross Primary's classy 25m pool played host to 64 swimmers from all over the Garden Route District, including Karoo Stars Swimming Club of Beaufort West and all five swim schools from the region that form part of Fish Eagle Aquatics.
Swimmers swam excellent times and earned certificates for the first, second and third places. The swimmers ranged in age from six to 14 years.

Those who took part in this gala are eligible for selection for the Junior Eden Team. Eden Aquatics general manager, Raymond Pollicutte, said this team will be announced soon. The EDA Junior Team will take part in the Level 1 Inter District Gala on 22 April.
"This was an awesome gala. The PBs (personal bests) were huge, the spirit was high, the podiums were many. So proud of each one of you. I'm a happy coach," posted Franna Vorster, a coach and swim school owner from George, following Fish Eagle's victory.
"Thanks to all our time keepers and officials. There were even judges working at this gala and their children didn't swim. We really appreciate each one of you."
Mimette Salter, club owner and coach of Royal Swimming Academy in George, said it was a wonderful day where many clubs were represented. "This gives one hope for the development of swimming," she said.
