FOOTBALL NEWS - St George and the Defence Force played out a 0-0 draw at the Adama Science and Technology University Stadium.
It was a game dominated by St George from start to finish and Mekelakeya have goalkeeper Clement Boye to thank for their cleansheet and perhaps the lack of VAR as well as the cross bar twice in their favour.
St George's Ghanian Striker, Frompong beat is Ghanian compatriot, Clement Boye in goal for Mekelakeya in the 69th minute but Boye reacted swiftly pulling the ball out of the net and despite the Referee's checks with his Assistant, it was in inconclusive.
St George started the game like a house on fire and they fashioned out their first chance as early as the 20th minute but Boye was outstanding.
Gatouch Panom narrowly headed a freekick over the bar on 32 minutes.
In the 40 minutes, Frimpong headed a corner but Boye saved it.
Amanuel Gebremichael had two chances to put St George ahead either side of the half-time but he headed on to the cross bar in the 45th minute.

Frimpong came close again in the 71st minute but his header again hits the post.
Abel Tallow was unable to convert their last chance from a goal mouth melee but in the end, it finished St George 0-0 Mekelakeya.
Mekelakeya Coach, Yohannes Sahle will be delighted with the point as it moves them one place up to 11th but St George, still unbeaten go 9 points clear when they could have been 12 points ahead of second placed Wolaitta Dicha.
