CRICKET NEWS - The SWD premier league competition is in full swing and tough battles were fought during the past weekend. The defending champions, NMU Madibaz, were victorious in both matches. On Saturday they posted 224/9 and restricted George to 209 (all out) for a 15 runs victory.
On Sunday Knysna Cavaliers who made 188 thanks to a fine innings by AB van der Walt (97) let them work very hard for a two-wicket victory when they hit the winning runs (191/8) in the 46th over. Harlequins had mixed success with a 42 runs victory against Pioneers, but lost by 5 wickets against George.
Ramblers (121/1) was too strong for Mossel Bay (120 all out) and won by 9 wickets for a well-earned bonus point victory after they reached the winning target in the 17th over.
