CRICKET NEWS - South Western Districts recently appointed Stephnie McKay as the new youth cricket coordinator. McKay, who matriculated at Langenhoven Gymnasium in Oudtshoorn before she obtained a National Diploma in Sports Management at the Cape Town University of Technology, brings a wide variety of skills and expertise to SWD.
She has provincial colors in biathlon, athletics, netball, lifesaving and swimming and extensive experience in coaching various sporting codes and was involved in administration at provincial level.
She started as an interim at the Eden Districts Sports Academy in 2014 and concluded her career as the Academy Office Administrator/Manager when SWD Cricket recently agreed for the use of the gymnasium facilities with the academy.
"We are delighted to have McKay in our staff component.
She will be a big asset to our ambitious organisation and will bring new blood to the youth cricket component at SWD Cricket," Gary Moos said (Cricket Services Manager of SWD Cricket). Mckay took office on 1 August.
