After comprehensively beating the Cape Cobras at the Wanderers in their opening match, the Lions went down to the Dolphins and the Titans in the next two games. Batsman Alviro Petersen has said that after winning the first match, it was disappointing to go on and lose the next two games, but that the games on the weekend are important for the rest of the season.
“We won the first game, but then lost the last two which is a bit disappointing,” Petersen said, “but the next two games will be important in terms of where we are going and how we finish off the first half of the season.”
The Lions will be looking to tweak all areas of their game before the match against the Warriors on Friday. “We were a few runs short against the Titans on Sunday, and in the bowling there was no penetrations and we battled to bowl in partnerships.”
