Furthermore, Rilee Rossouw has been ruled out of the one-day international (ODI) series following recommendations from Cricket South Africa’s medical committee and will be replaced by Khaya Zondo in the squad.
Proteas team manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee gave clarity on the injuries at the squad’s departure press conference held at OR Tambo International airport on Saturday afternoon.
“Unfortunately David Wiese fractured his right hand last week Sunday while taking a return catch off his own bowling,” he said.
