René Kalmer, Mapaseka Makhanya, Cornel Joubert, Lebo Phalula and Yolande Maclean have all confirmed their participation for the event in what could produce fast times in a flat route. Kalmer said she was looking forward to the race.
“I can’t think of a better place to celebrate National Women’s Day. I’ve been battling with a hip injury, so this will be a good test of my fitness,” said Kalmer. “I will be really happy to have a pain free race. Running a 33 minute, 10km race would be a bonus.”
Makhanya, Joubert and Phalula will make their Women’s Race Stellenbosch debut on the day. “I’ve heard that the 10km route is fast,” said Makhanya.
