OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Robert Rorich dominated the 10th four-day Rhodes Dryland Traverse races the past weekend that was based at the remote De Hoek mountain resort located approximately 35km from Oudtshoorn. In addition to his victories in the 25.7 - and 28.3 km races, Rorich also completed the final 10 km race in second place despite running it barefoot.
Rorich finally finished after four days of racing with an overall time of 5:27:15, with John April second (5:40:59) and Ben Kooyman (6:53:31) third.
In the women's division, Nadia Jooste won with Sarah-Jane Perry finishing in second place.The multiple gold medalist Comrades Marathon athlete, Yolande Maclean, took third place on the podium.
Other results:
- Francois Maquassa and Lloyd Bosman (5:36:26) clinched the men's team division.
- Former SA champion Chantel Nienaber and Chloe Bishop won the women's team division in an overall winning time of 7:50:36. Anel van Wyk and Eddie Mouton reigned supreme in the mixed category.
The 2022 Rhodes Dryland Traverse will take place from 3 to 6 November. Entries will open on Black Friday (26 November 2021) on Dryland's website.
