Umzimkhulu Mayor Mphuthumi Mpabanga says that warring factions in the regional ANC are to blame for the killings this year.

POLITICAL NEWS - The Moerane Commission of Inquiry investigating political killings in KwaZulu-Natal has heard how there’s political interference which determines whether suspects are arrested in cases believed to be assassinations.

Umzimkhulu councillors gave their testimonies on Monday, dismissing claims that there’s corruption in the municipality.

The area came into sharp focus after the death of former African National Congress (ANC) Youth League secretary Sindiso Magaqawhose funeral saw allegations of financial mismanagement in the refurbishment of a memorial hall.
