NATIONAL NEWS - A woman ended up with a bruised nose when she tried to help another woman being assaulted by a man on Solomon Mahlangu Drive on Sunday evening.

Joy van Niekerk was on her way to Lynnwood when a white BMW 3-series sped passed her and came to a stop after the Old Farm Crossing.

She said a man and woman jumped out the car and the unknown man started hitting and punching the woman.

“I stopped and tried to help her. She was bleeding from her nose. All I said to her was ‘Come with me. Let me help you,’ and then suddenly the man came from my side.
 
She said the man punched her on the nose.
