“SARS has accepted their resignations and hereby confirms that the parting of ways was amicable. SARS acknowledges and appreciates the contribution of Mr Pillay and Mr Richer during their years of service in SARS and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours,” SARS said in a statement, adding all charges and related investigations have been withdrawn.
Pillay and Richer are the second and third high profile resignations after that of group executive Johann van Loggerenberg.
The resignations have followed accusations of a “rogue unit” within SARS.
