GEORGE NEWS - The George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit (FCS) has released the identikit of a suspect wanted for an attempted rape in Begonia-Bleshoender Street in Sedgefield in December 2018.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Capt Malcolm Pojie, preliminary investigation indicates that the victim (22) was on her way to work at approximately 14:45 when she was accosted by the unknown suspect.
“The suspect, who was dressed in red pants, blue jersey and a black beanie, suddenly appeared from behind the bushes next to the road and demanded from her in Xhosa to hand over her phone. She did not have a phone. He then threatened her with a bread knife and forcefully pulled her into the bush where he attempted to rape her. Passers-by came to her rescue and the suspect fled the scene on foot,” said Pojie.
