NATIONAL NEWS - An eight-year-old child from Sweetwaters, Pietermaritzburg, who didn’t hesitate to try and rescue his younger cousin who came into contact with an exposed live wire from an electrical transformer, was also electrocuted on Saturday, leaving both children traumatised and injured.
Their survival has been described as ‘nothing short of a miracle’.
Sambulo Makhathini (7) and Lonathemba Zuma (8) were relaxing near a ground-mounted transformer when Sambulo came into contact with the blue phase terminal of the 11 kV cable termination, subjecting him to a severe electric shock.
