According to Charlene Geldenhuys who lives on Alida Road in Loumarina, she found her cat, Junior, in a very bad state during the early hours of Monday morning (19 October).
Junior gave birth to five kittens just four days prior.
We woke up and saw Junior had a big gash on her back. Me and my family then took her to Culemborg Veterinary Clinic where Doret du Plessis, a veterinarian had to operate on her. At first we suspected an owl had tried to pick her up but du Plessis said it looks like a panga-like object that had slashed through her skin.
“The force of the panga was so bad that it sliced through her skin, muscle and straight onto the bone. I will be opening an animal cruelty case at the nearest police station and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
