NATIONAL NEWS - KFC Africa has issued a formal response regarding the claim made by a customer in the USA that he received a fried rat in his KFC meal.
The American citizen recently reported receiving a fried rat in his KFC meal, and also claimed to have bitten into the piece of food which, he said, did not taste like chicken. He then claimed that an investigation was undertaken to prove that is was indeed a rat.
KFC Africa caught wind of the story and has since issued a formal response to the claim and addressed their serving standards – which some may find questionable after the saga of the chicken pieces allegedly being washed on the floor behind their Braamfontein outlet.
“KFC takes food safety extremely seriously, and the KFC team in the United States has made various attempts to contact the customer, but he is refusing to talk to them directly or through an attorney,” managing director of KFC Africa, Doug Sham responded.
