This is according to TravelBird’s latest beach price index.
The Dutch package holiday specialists calculated the cost of a day at 250 beaches around the world by adding the average costs of sunscreen, a bottle of water, a beer, ice-cream and lunch.
A day out at Hobie Beach will set travellers back about R479.
The study claims that the second most expensive South African beach is Port St Johns.
KwaZulu-Natal’s Ballito Beach in KwaDukuza is ranked third and Uvongo Beach on the Hibiscus Coast is fourth.
