“Christmas trading was above expectation with group sales growth for December (29 November 2015 to 26 December 2015) of 27,2%,” Foschini said.
Foschini said its sales post Christmas for the period 27 December 2015 to 9 January 2016 have been good with overall group sales increasing by 39,7%.
“Growths in the various merchandise categories included clothing at 16,7%; homewares at 4,5%; cosmetics at 7,9%; jewellery at 2,4% and cellphones at 13,8%,” Foschini said.
