The fire fighters of Working on Fire are shown bursting into spontaneous song and dance inside the airport at Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, Canada on Sunday 29 May, shortly after their arrival. The men and women are part of the biggest South African deployment ever, outside of the army, to assist a foreign country to combat fires.
Their singing and dancing have impressed to such an extent that by Tuesday afternoon at 15:00 the YouTube video has been viewed more than 113 000 times.
The Department of Environmental Affairs' Working on Fire programme firefighters flew to Alberta to help the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC) with their wildlands firefighting efforts.
