This after social media was abuzz this week when graphic images of a woman’s stab wounds circulated.
CPF chairperson Hugo Erasmus said the woman was admitted into Unitas hospital on Saturday and discharged the following day.
“I am busy with her and we are in the process of opening a case with police,” he told Rekord on Tuesday.
According to reports, Joanne Atkin (53), a Midrand resident, had just gotten off the Gautrain at the Centurion station on Saturday when she decided to walk to Centurion Mall.
She said she came across a man in overalls on the street and thought he was a municipal worker.
“He grabbed my handbag, but I put up a fight. And then he said in Afrikaans that he was going to stab me if I don’t give him my phone.”
