NATIONAL NEWS - Local soccer hero, Benni McCarthy, has become another statistic of crime after he was robbed at gunpoint earlier today in Melrose.

It has been reported that McCarthy was having his hair cut when three armed men approached him and robbed him of his valuables.

According to Eyewitness News, McCarthy’s manager, Percy Adams said that the robbers stole McCarthy’s watch, earrings and his wedding ring.
