2nd suspect arrested for businessman's murder
Gideon Mativo (40), the businessman from Wilderness whose body was found in a ditch near Ballots Bay, in Thembalethu.
NATIONAL NEWS - A 19-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of Wilderness businessman, Gideon Mativo.

Southern Cape Police Spokesperson Malcolm Pojie said the police received information from the public, which was followed up by detectives of the Thembalethu and Pacaltsdorp Police.

“The suspect tried to flee but he was caught and arrested,” said Pojie.

The suspect will soon appear in the George Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder.

Mativo's body was found last Tuesday in a ditch near Ballot's Bay in Thembalethu.
