According to Constable Noloyiso Rwexana‚ “a culpable homicide case is under investigation” after the boys “were knocked over by a train”.
Robert Daniels‚ spokesman for Western Cape Emergency Services‚ said a 17-year-old boy died on the scene while a 15-year-old boy was rushed to Groote Schuur Hospital shortly after 12:45pm.
“The 15-year-old was in a critical condition when he left the scene. The incident took place between Retreat and Steenberg near White Road Level Crossing‚” Daniels said.
“The scene has since been cleared.”
