The highest speed recorded was a 34-year-old man caught driving 191km/h on the N3 Road in Balfour on 10 April.
He was released on a R1 500 bail and will appear again in the Balfour Magistrate’s Court on 20 May.
Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC, Mr Vusi Shongwe, said speeding is one of the factors that highly contribute to road crashes.
“Our country must make it difficult for lawbreakers to attain bail so that a strong message could be sent to other motorists that we are serious about road safety.
