Captain Stefanie Smith, says three-year-old Leanne Adams, also known as Nomachina, left home to play with a neighbour's child in Mandela Street in Bongweni on Saturday.
Towards late afternoon, her grandfather went to look for her, but the neighbour was unable to say where she was.
At the time of her disappearance, Leanne was wearing pink tracksuit pants with green stripes and a blue jacket with a pink cap, and white takkies.
She is light in complexion, with brown eyes and speaks Xhosa.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact the police at Cookhouse.
