GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - Schools are not exempted from wearing face masks in classrooms as was stated by Deputy Director General of Health, Dr Nicholas Crisp, after the department yesterday published an extension of three months of the health regulations aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19.
The consultation period pertaining to the regulations was also extended.
Crisp has said in the media that the regulation on mandatory wearing of masks in indoor public places was not applicable to schools.
The Department of Basic Education is to issue a statement later today regarding the correct interpretation of the regulations pertaining to wearing face masks in schools.
