Pensioner recovering after attack

NATIONAL NEWS - Tina Matthews (68), a resident of the Pretoria-Oos Retirement Village in Die Wilgers, is recovering well after she was attacked and shot in the hip in her home.

According to Matthews’ son, Marius Fourie, she is out of hospital and doing well. “My mother has been discharged from Unitas and is living with my brother. We are so thankful that she is recovering well.”

He said that although she was recovering, she was skeptical about returning to her home. “My mother is still traumatised after what happened. We are in talks with the developers of the estate to ensure that when she returns, the security of the property is improved.”
