Panayioutou murder case: Alleged triggerman to file civil claim

NATIONAL NEWS - The man who allegedly fired the shots that killed Port Elizabeth teacher Jayde Panayiotou is today expected to officially file a civil claim against police.

Sizwezakhe Vumazonke claims he was assaulted after his arrest.

He is one of three men, including Panayiotou’s husband Christopher, who have been charged with her kidnapping and killing in April.

The alleged hitman’s attorney Ann Swanepoel claims her client was severely assaulted by police.

At his first court appearance in early May, Vumazonke’s face was visibly swollen.
