Jayde’s family sobbed and embraced each other in court after Magistrate Abigail Beeton refused bail on Friday.
Much-loved Nelson Mandela Bay teacher Jayde Panayiotou, 29, was abducted from outside her Port Elizabeth home on 21 April this year. Her body was found in Rocklands, outside Uitenhage, at about 10am the next day. She had been shot once in the head and twice in the chest.
Panayioutou, 28, was arrested more than a month ago. He is accused of paying a middleman, Luthando Siyoli, 31, to organise an alleged hitman, Sizwezakhe Vumazonke, 30, to kidnap his wife outside their Kabega Park townhouse complex and murder her in a remote area outside Uitenhage.
