Boy saved from drowning at Blythedale

NATIONAL NEWS - A ten-year-old boy was saved from the sea at Blythedale yesterday, thanks to a fisherman and two canoeists.

The little boy and a group of his friends were swimming at a non-swimming beach near the river mouth close to Jex estate, when he got into trouble.

“I was fishing, when I saw the one boy further away from the other boys and I heard him screaming for help,” said local fishermen, Pramesh Gayapershad.
