MOTORING NEWS - Clean and wax it: The easiest thing you can do is to give your car a good clean. Take it to the nearest car wash or grab a bucket of soapy water and do it yourself.
Really take the time to scrub off all of the dirt that has accumulated. Once you have given it a good wash, add a coat of wax.
Waxing your car will help protect it from some of the elements and give it that shiny new-car look.
Don’t forget the interior
Car interiors can be kept as pristine as the paintwork. This gives you greater ownership pleasure and enhances your vehicle’s resale value. You don’t have to spend every weekend cleaning your car’s interior, though. Apart from a weekly vacuuming, the rest of these maintenance tasks can be done every two to three months.
If you want to give your car a new look, a car wrap might be just the thing. A custom vehicle wrap will enable you to completely change the look of your car. You can change the colour or add a design for a personal, new look. Car wraps are an affordable alternative to painting your car and need not be permanent fixtures.
Service your air-con
The interior might look great even after four or five years, but how does it smell? If you’re using air-fresheners to mask odours, your air-con might be the problem. Changing the cabin air filter might not remove all odours. Rather, get your local workshop to service the air-con system and ensure that the condenser and evaporator are thoroughly cleaned.
Customise your seat covers
The quickest way to tell a car is old, worn and poorly used is cracked, torn or faded upholstery, especially on the front seats. Fixing this is one of the smartest ways to pimp your ride. You may choose to reupholster your car seats but, be warned – this is a costly and time-consuming exercise. A more affordable option is to buy stylish seat covers.
Fix the dents
Nothing detracts more from your car’s appearance than a big dent. If you make other repairs or additions but leave dents on the body, it’s akin to getting a new haircut while you’ve got a huge, red pimple in the middle of your face. People simply won’t be able to look away! Unrepaired dents can also lead to rusting and damage to the paintwork.
