GEORGE NEWS - There was a gregarious atmosphere at Eden Meander this morning, Tuesday 6 February, when the 2018 Ford Veteran and Vintage Tour took to the road.
The four-day, 750km-tour of the Klein Karoo includes scenic passes such as Robinson Pass and Seweweekspoort, and a trip to Oudtshoorn, the Cango Caves and Meiringspoort.
Members of the Southern Cape Old Car Club (SCOCC) participating in the tour will be hosting the 22nd Old Car Show this coming weekend, 10 and 11 February, where the 44 tour vehicles will be amongst the 1 000 items on display.
There will be veteran and classic cars, vintage motorcycles, more than 5 000 model cars and new vehicles showed by car dealers to gladden the hearts of motor car enthusiasts.
Participants in the tour are from all over South Africa, and there are two drivers from Canada and two from England.
If all goes to plan, the tour returns to George about 16:00 on Friday to form part of the exhibition at the show at PW Botha College.
