Firefighters from the Oudtshoorn Municipality, Eden District Municipality and Cape Nature have had their hands full since yesterday afternoon, 14 December extinguishing the fire.
The fire broke out in the areas of Rust en Vrede waterfall, a tourist attraction, which is situated about 25km outside Oudtshoorn and about just less than 10km South East of the Cango Caves. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Firefighters have managed to ensure that the fire does not go near residential areas. No injuries or damages to property have been reported so far.
The fire is still blazing and the fire fighting continues.
