MOSSEL BAY NEWS - "The real work starts now,” Municipal Manager of the Garden Route District Municipality, Monde Stratu said prior to the sod turning ceremony of the GRDM regional waste facility in Mossel Bay, which is the first public-private partnership of its kind in South Africa.
The facility will have an approximate lifespan of 30 years and will include a domestic waste cell and a separate hazardous waste cell.
The services of a roaming chipper and crusher will also be made available to Mossel Bay, George and Knysna municipalities on a rotational basis to manage green waste, construction and demolition waste, respectively.
