OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The Cango Wildlife Ranch recently welcomed five new baby cheetahs to the family.
Five cheetah cubs were born at the Jill Bryden Cheetah Reserve in Oudtshoorn on 20 October to Pippa and Parker.
Pippa gave birth to two girls and three boys. Craig Gouws, Assistant Zoological Manager, and proud Big Cat Zookeeper said they are all doing well.
"I saw their mom born to the Cango family, so it's a huge privilege seeing her babies healthy, happy and settling in well."
With less than 7 100 cheetahs left in the wild, an international self-sustaining cheetah population in professional and ethical human care is becoming even more important with the continued decrease of animal numbers in the wild.
Other new arrivals are flying foxes and lemurs.
The five new cheetah cubs, Thandi, T'Challa, Thane, Topaz and Troy.
