OUDTSHOORN NEWS - Former South Western Districts first-class cricketer and previous employee at the company, Gary Moos, was recently appointed as the new Cricket Services Manager.
Moos, who hails from Oudtshoorn, started to work at SWD Cricket as a development coach in 2003 and was later appointed as the mini cricket co-ordinator.
It was during this time when SWD Cricket often received the award for the best managed Mini Cricket program in the country.
In 2016 he moved to Griqualand West Cricket in Kimberley as the mini cricket co-ordinator and in 2018 to Gauteng Cricket in the same position. In 2020 he became the youth cricket co-ordinator at Gauteng Cricket. He completed a Sports Management Diploma in 2010.
In his playing career, he represented SWD between 2005 and 2009 and played in SWD's inaugural first-class match against Border in October 2006.
"SWD Cricket is very close to my heart, and I am indeed looking forward to the new challenge and am motivated to add new value to the Cricket Services Department at SWD Cricket," Moos said.
"We are delighted to have Moos back in our staff component after he has gained valuable experience and exposure in other cricket centres in South Africa. He will be a big asset to our ambitious organisation and will bring new blood to the management capacity at SWD Cricket," Albertus Kennedy (SWD Cricket CEO) said.
