DE VLUGT
Fire is not contained. No communication with people on that side - only when getting here. Choppers could not do water drops due to smoke conditions earlier. SCFPA went out there and declare them safe. We do know that there is a clearing around sawmills, not proper stacking so it create a bit of a problem. Firefighters are safe because the fire moved past the sawmill.
Communication from the De Vlugt area was an issue, but thanks to the SCFPA the issue has been resolved. They have dedicated people at the scene to provide feedback. A mobile repeater from EMS is also near the scene to assist with radio communications.
Resources deployed
- Two choppers
- 4 tankers
