GARDEN ROUTE DISTRICT NEWS - The Department of Health will continue to restrict visits to its health facilities in line with national safety regulations.
"This is part of its responsibility in ensuring everyone's safety," said Nadia Ferreira, principal communications officer of the department in the Southern Cape.
Some facilities are in a position to allow in one birthing partner and one parent/guardian for paediatric patients.
Facilities will also consider visits on compassionate grounds, such as when a patient is at the end-of-life stage.
However, anyone going to, or planning to go to a health facility, is encouraged to first phone the facility to enquire about visiting, as this varies daily due to the number of factors at a specific facility.
