GARDEN ROUTE NEWS & VIDEO - Staff of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance branches in the Garden Route are being spoiled this week by the Gift of the Givers Foundation with a donation of goodie bags to show appreciation for their dedication in working on the frontline.
Ali Sably, Gift of the Givers project manager, said the emergency staff of the EMS ambulance staff have been doing phenomenal work during this pandemic.
"These are the most challenging times for anybody in the field. They are normally the first respondents when a call is made for assistance. Sometimes they drive for hours with a patient, looking for a hospital bed. We are here to honour them and show them the love and support from South Africans who are standing behind them."

One of the donors, Oceana Group, has sponsored the goodie bags that are filled with various items including hand sanitiser and bottled water.
Gift of the Givers provided relief to the community in the 2017 Knysna fires in which many people lost their homes, and the organisation has since retained a presence in the Southern Cape to continue their involvement in charity work and provide disaster relief.
