OUDTSHOORN NEWS - The Santa Shoebox Project is an initiative to ensure every child receives a Christmas present.
Through the work of countless volunteers, sponsors and donors, we create little boxes of presents to give to children across the country.
Last year in our area alone, we had over 1 000 shoeboxes to give to children in need.
Why is the Santa Shoe Box Project important?
"Christmas is a time of giving, and we strive to give every child in our area a special surprise during the special season. All across the country, there are countless children who need our help. These boxes are made to give them basic necessities they need, such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, as well as a toy for them to play with."
Planning of the project for this Christmas is already underway and the request for donations has already started. People across the country are being asked to get involved by sponsoring gifts that can be placed in the gift boxes to be distributed.
"The more donations of gifts and boxes we receive, the more we can give to our children to ensure they feel loved this coming Christmas and make it a memorable one."
